III. KEY EXPERIENCE

1. 1. More than 7 years of teaching experience in areas of international finance at the University of Ljubljana. At the Faculty of Economics, I have been teaching courses on International Finance and International Corporate Finance while at the Faculty of Social Sciences, I have been teaching a course on International Finance. Over the recent year, I have been regular visiting professor at the master’s program (MEBS) at the Universite di Siena (http://www.unisi.it/) in Siena Italy as well as at the doctoral program on international finance organised jointly by Wirtschaftsuniversitat Wien, Technische Universitat Wien in Universitat Wien (http://info.tuwien.ac.at/ccefm/) in Vienna, Avstrija.

2. 2. More than 20 years of experience in research and consultancy on international finance, including international capital flows, trade and project financing, external debt management, country risk assessment, capital market development, for clients in Yugoslavia and Slovenia (government authorities and business, especially banking community) as well as for international organisations, such as OECD, EC-Phare, the World Bank, EBRD, IFC, Inter-American Development Bank, and a number of UN agencies (UNCTAD, UNIDO, UNITAR).

3. 3. More than 10 years of experience in designing and implementing Slovenian Government's policy in areas of international finance and EU accession. In the period since independence, I have been directly involved in negotiations aimed at reaching separate agreements between Slovenia and the three groups of its foreign creditors (multilateral financial institutions, the Paris Club and the London Club). Between 1992 and mid-1996, I was the chief debt negotiator for the Republic of Slovenia. Since 1997, I am advising the Slovenian Government on financial aspects of the country’s EU accession.
