Circular economy study of the Adriatic-Ionian region

As part of the AI-NURECC PLUS project framework, a circular economy study of the Adriatic-Ionian region is being conducted. The study aims to produce an overview of the status of the circular economy in the Adriatic-Ionian region while identifying opportunities, and challenges and providing recommendations for further development and implementation of the circular transition. For this purpose, desk research, surveys and stakeholder interviews are being conducted.

The circular economy is one of the main priorities of the European Commission, as highlighted in the Circular Economy Action Plan and the European Green Deal. Furthermore, the circular transition is of paramount importance for the Adriatic-Ionian region to tackle the environmental, societal, and economic challenges the region is facing. The need for a circular economy has been also highlighted by the recent need for increased resilience, resource security and sustainability.

Two surveys have been developed:

  1. The first survey is for the Universities that are members of Uniadrion as they represent key stakeholders for the circular transition of the Adriatic-Ionian region. The survey has the purpose of including the feedback and perspective of Universities and Academia into the study to complement the desk research.

The survey shall be distributed and answered by representatives of the Faculties of Economics and Business, Engineering and technology (different engineering disciplines), Sciences (different Sciences), and Social Sciences
