The Center of Excellence, UDG became part of the RAKIP initiative

University of Donja Gorica (UDG), Centre of Excellence (FoodHub) became part of the "Risk Assessment Modelling and Knowledge Integration" - RAKIP Initiative.

The RAKIP initiative is reflected in the cooperation of all actors in the areas of risk assessment and management, academic institutions, and other interested parties. RAKIP was founded by the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR), the French Agency for Food, Environment and Health (ANSES), and the German National Institute for Food (DTU Food).

Membership in the RAKIP Initiative is of great importance for the Centre of Excellence (FoodHub) and the Montenegrin community, which focuses on food safety. RAKIP establishes a framework for cooperation between member organizations of the initiative in the field of supporting existing and future models for efficient information exchange and food safety risk assessment. The key components are solutions that enable the sharing of knowledge, that is, ensure the improvement of the efficiency and simplicity of the risk assessment process.

Currently, RAKIP is committed to ensuring scientifically based implementation of this concept and establishing the first base of digital models for quantitative assessment of microbiological risks in the field of food safety.

In the next period, operational bases will be established with available models for risk assessment, based on real data from the field, and their effective exchange with interested parties will be enabled within the public portal of the RAKIP community.

Attached is a document that describes the RAKIP Initiative in more detail.
