Studying at UDG does not mean that a student’s academic experience has to remain within the borders of Montenegro. International mobility has become an important part of university life, giving students an opportunity to spend part of their studies abroad, experience a different academic system, meet new cultures and return to UDG with knowledge and experiences that cannot be gained only in the classroom.

At the University of Donja Gorica, international and domestic students have equal access to opportunities for international mobility, provided they meet the requirements of the individual call or programme. A student’s country of origin should not determine how far their university experience can take them.

Through Erasmus+ credit mobility, UDG has developed cooperation with a wide network of European universities. UDG’s Internationalization Strategy states that approximately 70 inter-institutional agreements for mobility with European universities have been signed over the previous five years, creating a broad framework for student and staff exchanges.

But internationalization at UDG goes beyond one mobility programme or one part of Europe. The University’s international network also includes cooperation developed through ASU/Cintana Alliance, the RES-UNI network, as well as partnerships with universities in China and other parts of the world. These partnerships provide a foundation for different forms of international academic cooperation and further development of student mobility opportunities.

For UDG, however, having international agreements is only one part of the process. Students also need to know that these opportunities exist and understand how they can become part of them.

For this reason, UDG regularly organizes information sessions dedicated to international mobility and exchange opportunities. During these sessions, students can learn more about currently available calls, partner universities, application procedures, required documentation and the practical side of spending a semester abroad. They also have an opportunity to ask questions and receive guidance before deciding which mobility opportunity best matches their academic interests.

The idea is to bring international opportunities closer to every student. Whether someone arrived at UDG from another country or grew up only a few kilometres from the campus, the possibility of gaining an international academic experience should be part of their university journey.

This direction is closely connected with the goals of the ME Study in English project and UDG’s broader internationalization efforts: creating a university where international experience is not something reserved for a small number of students, but an increasingly visible and accessible part of studying at UDG.
