Choosing a university abroad comes with questions. A lot of them.

What can I study at UDG? How does the application process work? Which documents do I need? What is it like to study in Montenegro? Where can I find the information I need before making a decision?

For prospective international students interested in the University of Donja Gorica, answers to many of these questions are now just a message away.

As part of the ME Study in English project, UDG introduced an English-language chatbot designed to make information about the University more accessible to students from around the world.

Available online, the chatbot allows prospective students to ask questions in English and quickly find relevant information about UDG, without language being an obstacle and without having to search through numerous pages to find the right answer.

The idea is particularly important for someone exploring UDG from another country. Their first contact with the University may happen from hundreds or thousands of kilometres away, in a different time zone and long before they have the opportunity to visit Podgorica. The chatbot creates an additional point of contact that is available whenever that first question appears.

And students are already using it. According to data from the Microsoft Azure platform through which the chatbot was developed, it recorded 11.44 thousand questions in June 2025, 2.43 thousand in July and 1.12 thousand in August 2025.

The chatbot is one of several tools developed to improve the experience of international students and make information about studying at UDG more accessible in English. Together with the International Student Guide 2025 and other English-language content, it contributes to a wider goal of the ME Study in English project: making UDG easier to discover, understand and access for students beyond Montenegro.
