International Erasmus+ Week organized at UDG
The University of Donja Gorica (UDG) has once again successfully held the Erasmus+ International Staff Week 2026, taking place from April 13-18, 2026. The Erasmus+ International Week, organized within the framework of the Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility programme, brought together around 30 representatives of academic and administrative staff from partner universities in Italy, Spain, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Portugal, and others. The programme provided a platform for knowledge and experience exchange, the enhancement of professional competencies, and the further strengthening of international cooperation through a series of interactive workshops, lectures, and discussions.![]()
During the programme, participants had the opportunity to exchange knowledge and experiences, improve their professional competencies, and further strengthen international cooperation through a range of interactive workshops, lectures, and discussions. Special focus was placed on developing innovative approaches to learning, strengthening the international dimension of higher education, and improving institutional connectivity. In addition, participants had the opportunity to get acquainted with the research centers at the University of Donja Gorica, as well as the numerous research and innovation projects carried out by UDG, such as EuroCC – National Competence Centre in High Performance Computing, ADRIONWIND – Adriatic-Ionian Offshore Wind Network of Excellence, FoodHub – Centre of Excellence for Digitalization of Food Safety Risk Assessment and Precision Certification of Food Product Authenticity, Development, Monitoring, Recognition and Digitalization of Extracurricular Activities at University Level – DTRD-ECA, and the Centre for Climate Change, Natural Resources and Ecology.

Particular value was added to this year’s programme by the active participation of visiting professors and experts in the teaching process, through lectures delivered to students of several UDG faculties on topics such as contemporary trends in food production and its valorization, professional development and careers – examples of good practice, consumer behavior and branding, smart tourism – valorization and sustainability with examples of good practices from Portugal, and many others. In this way, students had the opportunity to directly engage with contemporary international academic practices, different approaches to teaching and research, as well as global trends in their respective fields.

Alongside the academic programme, participants were also offered a cultural programme – Montenegrin Language and Culture: Crash Course, a short introduction to Montenegrin culture, tradition, and the basics of the language, as well as organized visits to historical and cultural sites, including the Old Town of Kotor and Cetinje. These activities gave participants a deeper understanding of Montenegro’s rich heritage and a direct encounter with local tradition, history, and everyday life.
The Erasmus+ International Staff Week further opened the door for developing new forms of collaboration, including the initiation of joint international research projects, the advancement of scientific and research work, and the strengthening of academic and institutional cooperation among partner universities.![]()
Through initiatives such as these, the University of Donja Gorica continues to build a strong network of international partnerships and actively contributes to the development of a modern, open, and globally connected educational landscape.
