Starting university in another country comes with many questions. Where will I live? How does the application process work? What documents do I need? What is student life like? And what should I know before arriving in Montenegro?

To make these first steps easier, the University of Donja Gorica has developed the International Student Guide 2025, a comprehensive resource designed for international students interested in studying at UDG. The Guide was created within the Erasmus+ project ME Study in English, as part of UDG’s efforts to make information about studying in Montenegro more accessible to an international audience.

The idea behind the Guide is simple: students considering a university abroad should not have to search through dozens of pages and sources to understand what awaits them. Important academic and practical information should be available in one place, clearly presented and easy to access.

The International Student Guide provides future students with information they need to better understand studying at UDG and prepare for their arrival in Montenegro. In this way, the Guide is more than promotional material. It is one of the tools through which UDG aims to make the transition to a new university, city and country easier.

This approach is also part of UDG’s broader internationalization efforts. The University is working towards an environment in which international students receive support not only in choosing and applying for their studies, but throughout the process of becoming part of the UDG community.

The ME Study in English project contributes to this goal by improving the visibility and accessibility of information for international students and strengthening UDG’s capacity to welcome students from different countries.

For someone considering UDG from hundreds or thousands of kilometres away, the first experience of the University often happens long before arriving in Podgorica.

The International Student Guide is designed to make that first experience a little easier.
