Student’s Day

On the occasion of Student's Day, UDG organizes competitions

UDG traditionally marks Student’s Day by organizing two events: Research Day and UDG Marathon. Within Research Day, researchers, including students, present their research papers and projects that have been published in the current academic year. This event is organized in cooperation with Monstat and Damar.

The UDG Marathon represents a sporting event where students and employees compete in four disciplines. UDG pays great attention to sports and this is just one in a series of sporting events organized by the University.

Although this year’s events cannot be held in the traditional form, they did not give up on organizing them. Both events will be held in a different way, which fit the current situation we are in.

In that manner, Research Day was marked by a call for a competition for the selection of the best research paper on the topic: “Methods of data collection and presentation in the COVID 19 era”. The research should answer the following question: What methods to use in situations where physical access to households is impossible and limited, in order to collect and present information on the causes and consequences of COVID 19 on socio-economic developments in Montenegro. For the best paper, a prize pool of 1,500 Euros has been provided.

Instead of organizing the UDG marathon in the traditional way, this year it was decided on an organization of a "marathon of fun" on social networks (Instagram or TikTok). In order to participate in this competition, alumni, current or future students, as well as employees, need to post an interesting video about staying physically active with the hashtag # UDGmaraton2020. Valuable sports awards were provided for the top three videos. More info is available at udg_montenegro's Instagram profile.

On this occasion, Student’s Day, UDG uses the opportunity to congratulate students on their solidarity and responsibility
