UDG: For contribution to the future of our students

This year, the University day, November 11th, was marked by awarding the first honorary doctorate to historian, prof. Latinka Perović, PhD, awarded by Rector of the UDG with the message: “For contribution to the future of our students”.

As the introduction to the awarding first honorary doctorate at University of Donja Gorica, promotion of the book “Dominant and unwanted elite”, historian, prof. Latinka Perović (Notes on the intellectual and political elite in Serbia (XX-XXI century)) was held. Rector pointed out how important it is not to forget that the book was written by last living person who has got the aureole of the historical figures, for her life. “Latinka Perović is a living legend. Legend who fights for her ideas. For human dignity. Latinka Perović is the headquarters of the ideas of liberalism. She retained something that turn her off from the main road of contemporary politics and turn her on the road of intellectual dissidence…  On the same road then and now - the road of the future.”

After the awarding honorary doctorate, the solemn ceremony of awarding diplomas to students who graduated at Bachelor’s/specialist/master's degree during the previous academic year was held.

This is the day when we congratulate graduation to all graduated students and wish them the happiness and success in their life. This event is dedicated to the promotion of our motto, the motto of UDG, THE HISTORY OF FUTURE.
