Choosing a university in another country often begins online, long before a student visits the campus, meets a professor or attends their first lecture. For international students, that first experience depends on something very simple: being able to find and understand the information they need.

Through the ME Study in English project, the University of Donja Gorica has continued to strengthen the availability of information and content in English, making UDG more accessible to prospective and current international students.

This process goes beyond translating existing materials. The aim is to communicate with international students from their perspective and provide clear information about studying at UDG, academic opportunities, application procedures and everyday student life in Montenegro.

During 2025, this approach was reflected through different communication formats, including digital content in English, an International Student Guide, dedicated promotional materials and an English language chatbot. These tools were developed to help students access relevant information more easily, whether they are already studying at UDG or exploring Montenegro as a possible study destination. The project documentation records the promotion of the International Student Guide as well as the implementation and use of the chatbot.

Making information available in English is also an important part of UDG’s wider internationalization process. The University’s internationalization documents identify English language academic programmes and a dedicated English language web presence among the important steps towards attracting and supporting a growing international student community.

For UDG, speaking English therefore means more than using another language. It means removing one of the first barriers an international student may encounter and creating a university environment that can be understood and accessed beyond national borders.

Through ME Study in English, UDG continues to work towards a simple goal: wherever a student comes from, information should never be the barrier between them and an opportunity to study.
