On June 6, 2025, with warm applause echoing through the Sports and Culture Center of the University of Montenegro, the Montenegro Regional Final of the 2025 “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competition, organized by the Confucius Institute at the University of Montenegro, successfully concluded. The Tourism Confucius Classroom at the University of Donja Gorica organized five university-level students to take part in the competition. After fierce competition, Ajša Reković won second prize in the university category, while the other four contestants received Excellence Awards.

During the preparation stage, teachers and students from the Tourism Confucius Classroom worked together closely, carefully refining each part of the competition. From speech writing and language training to talent performance rehearsals, teachers gave full guidance, helping students revise and practice repeatedly. The contestants also trained persistently despite their busy study schedules, overcoming difficulties and showing their enthusiasm and commitment to learning Chinese, which laid a solid foundation for their good performance in the competition.

The competition consisted of three parts: themed speech, knowledge quiz, and Chinese cultural talent performance. The theme of the speech was “One World, One Family.” Ajša Reković delivered a natural and fluent speech with a clear message. She began with Chinese stories told by her father and shared her personal journey of learning Chinese and gradually understanding and appreciating Chinese culture. She expressed the importance of mutual respect and understanding among different cultures, reflecting her deep thoughts on the theme “One World, One Family.”

In the talent section, she sang the classical poem Shēng Shēng Màn in both Mandarin and the Suzhou dialect. Her voice was soft and expressive, showing a delicate feeling for the beauty of Chinese pronunciation, and was well received by the judges. With her strong performance, Ajša won second prize in the university group and will go to China to observe the global finals of the “Chinese Bridge” competition.
